FAQs
I am nervous about leaving my child at a daycare. What are the benefits that can come out of your child attending a learning center?

It can be hard bringing your child to a daycare for the first time. If you have never been away from your child for a full day and are doing so for the first time, here are some advantages to bringing your child to daycare that will ease your stress about letting them go.

Learning centers will help with your child's behavior. At our learning center, your child will be taught manners and will interact with many other kids their age every day and learn tons of new things. This will develop their social skills and help with emotional and cognitive development. Learning centers are also a great way to strengthen your child's immune system. Most parents are not too ecstatic about sending their child off to a center that is full of germs and risk their child getting sick. However, exposing your child to germs when they are young will actually strengthen their immune system and keep them not being able to fight off more serious infections down the road. A very obvious advantage of sending your child to a learning center is that they will become smarter and will stand out above other children when starting school. It is proven that in a high-quality learning center, children will possess better language and cognitive development. Studies show that infants enrolled in a high-quality child care program are four times more likely to have earned a college degree. Furthermore, studies even show that infants who were enrolled in daycare were more likely to stay employed in the future. Finally, the primary goal of learning centers is to prepare kids for school. Here at our learning center, we assign activities that will help with your child's education, while ensuring that they are having fun.
  • How do I prepare my child for their first day?

It is important for both you and your child to be prepared for the first day of daycare. One thing that you do not have to worry about when you choose Little Peoples Workshop is not knowing whether your child will be happy and receive the care they deserve. Our learning center will keep your little ones entertained and well-nurtured the whole time. It is also a good idea to get into contact with our staff before your child's first day and let them know how often you would like to be updated on how your child is doing. If there are any problems throughout the day our staff will not hesitate to call. You and the staff should also be aware of how your child could react to being away from their guardian for a whole day. Further, you may have to plan to stay longer the first day in case your child suffers from any separation anxiety. You should talk with your child before their first day as well and explain to them what the learning center will be like and what they will do as well. Finally, it may help to bring one of your child's closest belongings to the learning center, such as a stuffed animal or blanket that will allow them to feel more comfortable and safe.

  • What will my child do at your learning center?

At Little Peoples Workshop, your child will become the very best version of themselves as we allow children to just be themselves and learn who they are. During the day, your child will use up excess energy, relax, take risks, learn how to be self-disciplined, find their interests, experiment, explore, form relationships, work together and independently, and feel accomplished. Our several activities consist of art, blocks, literacy, technology, role play, nature, science, music, and math. We will expose your child to activities that will familiarize them with what the world has to offer and prepare them to be way ahead of others when they start attending school. All our activities are educational and fun so your child will be begging not to leave every day! You can count on us to treat your children with great care as we have been successful in running our learning center for 30 years now. In addition, if you are just looking for a babysitter to watch your child while you work, Little Peoples Workshop is the right place to ensure that your child is being well cared for, having fun, and even learning!

  • Can you tell me about your staff at Little Peoples Workshop?

The staff here at Little Peoples Workshop is outstanding with children! They will treat your child as if it's their own. Each and every teacher at our learning center is certified by the state of Louisiana. Our staff is responsible for supervising and monitoring the safety of your children, preparing and organizing meals, making sure your children keep good hygiene, changing diapers for infants and toddlers, organizing activities that allow the children to learn about the world and explore their interests, developing schedules and routines, watching for potential emotional development problems to warn guardians about, and keeping records of all the children's progress in the learning center. The staff in charge of infants and toddlers will read, play, and take care of them while teaching them basics such as sharing with other children. On the other hand, the staff in charge of the preschoolers are responsible for preparing the children for kindergarten. They will be taught language, vocabulary, social skills, math skills, and artistic ability to ensure that they are more than prepared.

  • What age groups do you accept?

We accept any age from under one year of age to Pre-K children up to four years old. We have three different programs that you can enroll your child in. Our programs are infant care and development, toddler care and development, and a preschool program. We welcome all children until we fill up at our maximum capacity of 42 children. We set this limit to ensure that your children are getting the attention they deserve along with a sufficient amount of one-on-one time. With each child, our goal is to plan our curriculum according to specific goals for each age, while incorporating fun at the same time. We serve children within a 10-15 mile location of our location.
